It was a time for hope, it was a time for joy, it was a time for rejuvenation, and it was a time for community building. The problem is that on January 20, 2009 we put into office all the nice sentiments and we have kissed free market capitalism good bye, at least for now if not forever. Yes I listen to all the conservative talk shows, I even have Serius Radio so I can listen to the Fox News Channel on the way to work.

What do I hear daily:
1) The DOW is further down today
2) The president has another bailout bill ready to spend money
3) Republicans making a stand, not so much

let me talk about #3 above because it feels like the old Alfred, Lord Tennyson poem commemorating the Charge of the Light Brigade

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley’d and thunder’d;
Storm’d at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
Maybe it should read:
Pork to the right of them,
Pork to the left of them,
Lobbyist in front of them
Volley’d and thunder’d
Storm’d at with hat in hand
Boldly they rode and well,
Into halls if financial Death
Into the Senate’s well
Spent the six hundred
(well, more like 435 representatives, and 100 Senators, but what’s a little round up among friends – heck throw in the President and his advisors and we do have 600 spending like there is no tomorrow)

The thing that amazes me is that few people are screaming. We are butchering the most powerful economic engine of the 20th century. We are throwing the economy out the window, and we’ve done it more rapidly than anyone (even our founding fathers) thought was possible when they instituted the formal debate system and the 3 branches of government. No one wants to miss out on the opportunity to spend money.

Claire McCaskill you claim to be against pork, how in God’s name can you say that and vote for the huge recover (waste of money) bill? Senator Bond, how soon Sir is your term over? Stand up Sir, you are supposed to be a conservative.

The conservative movement needs leaders and we have a vacuum at this point when Rush Limbaugh is the focal point of the President’s attacks or the Conservative Movement.

Governor Boby Jindal, you claim to be the voice of the conservative movement, what are you doing to stop the lunacy in 2010?

Sarah Palin, you ARE a true conservative, we need to hear more from you. Governor Palin, we need you to speak strongly for the conservative view and stop the spending nonsense in Washington. They are spending money we don’t have. Has no one learned a thing from Argentina? Is the objective to make the United States of America a third world country by ignoring the economic engine? If Wall Street continues to vote with the dollars being pulled out of the market, the 401K will become an 01K very soon.

Mr. President, with all due respect what we need to hear from you is that the economy has hidden strength and that you’re going to let market forces do their job. Your job rating for the last 8 weeks on the economy is a dismal D minus.
