LEE’S SUMMIT, OCTOBER 16, 2012 – Earns & Young has just completed a new survey and study that shows how Obama’s proposed tax hikes on small businesses will destroy more than 700,000 jobs. According to The Hill, the survey conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce discovered that the President’s “Fiscal Cliff” is hampering businesses from hiring with 89% of small business owners saying the tax hikes scheduled for January 1 “will hurt their firms” – echoing what Jacob Turk is hearing at the dozens of Small Business Roundtables he’s held throughout Kansas City and the 5th District in Missouri.
- 76% of small businesses say the health care bill makes it harder to hire more employees. Turk continues to oppose Obamacare – Emanuel Cleaver believes it is good.
- 76% of small businesses say that high energy prices threaten their business. Jacob Turk wants to open up our current Energy Industry – Emanuel Cleaver sides with the President wasting money on Solindra, and hamstringing oil, gas and coal exploration.
- More than 80% of executives said the $16 trillion debt burden the U.S. carries is affecting their business growth – the money that’s available for entrepreneurs is used up by the Government debt. Turk wants a balanced budget –Cleaver voted for all the President’s high spending budgets.
- A majority of those surveyed say they will hold off hiring into 2013. The looking tax hikes are the “sucker punch” on job creators. Turk wants to create jobs, ran a successful small business, and knows over-regulating business chokes the life out of it; Cleaver supports the regulations and has stated “there is more work to be done”
Let’s face it. Emanuel Cleaver has been a rubber stamp for all the failed policies that led us into the financial crisis of 2008, and has rubber stamped every effort to make the economy what it is today.
Can we afford to have a Representative in the 5th district that represents the President and the Democratic Party, or do we want a Representative of the people in the 5th district?
Keep that question in mind when you vote in November.
Respectfully Submitted,
The Lee’s Summit Conservative
