For over 60 years, the Kansas City International Visitors Council has worked to improve global understanding and make peace through exchange programs between international visitors and Americans in our communities. Because of the support of community organizations such as yours, we have been largely successful in these endeavors.

Building on our legacy as an organization, and with the plan to create even more opportunities for community members to connect with our delegations, we are proud to announce a new name. Moving forward, the Kansas City International Visitors Council (KCIVC) will be Global Ties KC.

Our hope is that this new name will set us apart from other international organizations in the community, and will be easier for you to remember. Furthermore, by becoming Global Ties KC we are reinforcing our connection with Global Ties US, our parent organization and partner, in managing the Department of State’s prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).

Our new website, has gone live. Feel free to check it out! Between home hospitality dinners for international guests, home stay opportunities for short and long term programs, receptions, and professional programming opportunities, you have the ability to engage with our visitors, and form “Global Ties” with leaders throughout the world.

If you would like to sign up for our mailing list, to stay up to date on what International groups are coming to town, you may do so here:

Thank you for continuing to support us in our mission to connect the world to the heart of America.

All the best,

Courtney Brooks
Global Ties KC Executive Director
