Pleasant Hill, 4/3/2020 – As the COVID-19 virus spreads throughout the nation, here in Missouri we had the first reported case on March 3, 2020 in the County of St. Louis. Twenty seven days later, we are up to 2,112 confirmed cases.
Our condolences go to the 19 families that have experienced the tragedy of loosing a family member to this virus.
There are a total of 117 reporting centers in the state of Missouri, each county and, as of today, the cities of St. Louis, Kansas City and Joplin. The virus is currently in 66% of the reporting centers leaving 34% without any confirmed reports.
The graph shows how the COVID-19 confirmed infections are growing since the first confirmed case on March 7, 2020.
The key line to watch, according to all the experts is the “Change from day before” line. The idea is that at first, like in New York City, the change from the day before rises, making the daily numbers rise faster and faster, till the day when it flattens out.
In the Missouri numbers, it appeared to flatten out around March 25th at around 160 new cases per day, then it dipped, and started going up. Now we seem to have settled, at least for the last four days, at an average of 268 new cases per day.
The key question is, will it remain flat, and if so will it go down?
