JEFFERSON CITY, NOVEMBER 29, 2012 – State Sen. Will Kraus, R-Lee’s Summit, will meet with local elected leaders in an effort to find issues each community would like to see addressed during the 2013 session in the General Assembly.  In the past, Sen. Kraus has invited elected officials to his office, but this year he plans to attend a December or January Board of Aldermen or City Council meeting, arriving 30 minutes early to allow time for the individual members to have a chance to share their concerns.

“Input from local residents and elected officials has been a key to several pieces of legislation I have sponsored and the General Assembly has passed,” said Sen. Kraus. “This year, I want to go right to the source and listen to local public officials ideas in their own arena.”

Senator Kraus will also ask to speak briefly at each meeting and will stay after the meetings to talk individually with residents, when possible.

In addition to these council and board visits, Sen. Kraus is planning trips on respective meeting days to the city’s school districts and Chambers of Commerce to discuss issues that will affect them in the coming year.

“I look forward to meeting with stakeholders throughout the legislative district again this year as we shape our 2013 priorities,” said Sen. Kraus.
