Lee’s Summit, July 20, 2010 – As far as state senate primaries go, it is hard to imagine a race more publicly contested than the Republican primary for the state senate in the 8th District, which is a concern to me. In this race, there is a right choice and a wrong choice. The right choice is Rep. Will Kraus who has led the fight for OUR interests both in Jefferson City and Iraq.
Rep. Kraus has been serving and fighting for the people of the 8th District on two fronts. He has been fighting in Jefferson City to protect his constituents. Likewise, he has been fighting to protect all Americans through his admirable service as a Captain in the Army Reserve flying helicopters. Now in his 18th year of military service, Captain Kraus was deployed to Iraq from March ’03 to April ’04. Almost immediately upon his return home, Will took his leadership to Jefferson City.
When others had tried and failed, Rep Kraus’ sponsorship and innovative thinking led to the passage of HB 82, which provided a state income tax exemption to veterans.
For a Vietnam veteran like me, Will’s continued service to the veterans in the state of Missouri shows his loyalties are to the people he serves.
Though this race is considered a dead heat to some, it should be a landslide as far as I am concerned. Will Kraus is the right choice to be our next State Senator from the 8th District.
