Pleasant Hill, May 26, 2018 – Welcome to the new look of the Lee’s Summit Conservative.  In the last 10 years of this blog, I have spoken too often about the politics of our country and how it is not what it used to be.

We have lost our ability for rhetoric.  We let emotions dictate truth.  We allow no opposing views.  We spend time trying to force our political philosophicalImage of Old Faithful Geyser April 2018 opponents to shut up.

So today I decided that perhaps there is a better way.  Perhaps if we focus on the beauty of our country, or neighborhoods and our friends, we can begin to find the common ground that will allow us to develop the ability to present arguments, rather than argue with each other.

The picture of old faithful was taken in April of 2018 as we traveled from Kansas City, to Devils Tower, to Buffalo Wyoming, home of the Busy Bee Café and Walt Longmire.  We traveled to Bozeman and Big Timber Montana and then down to see old faithful.  It certainly was faithful.  We waited, it sputtered, it spewed and then it the geyser erupted; in my vocabulary it geysed upward into the heavens.

We were in awe of the majestic power of water, heated earth, and the formation of steam pockets in a periodic and repetitive way.

Take time this weekend to think about all the wonderful people that have come into your life, and into whose life you’ve entered.  Take time to think of the happy moments.  Make time to thank them in person, in your mind, or through prayer.  Allow their thanks to reach your soul.

God bless.

Respectfully Submitted,
The Lee’s Summit Conservative.
