JEFFERSON CITY, January 6, 2011 — Senator Will Kraus, R-Lee’s Summit, took the oath of office today, officially becoming senator for the 8th District in a ceremony that began the First Regular Session of the 96th General Assembly.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve in this position,” Sen. Kraus said. “Today marks a new chapter in my life as a legislator. As part of this new Senatorial class, I am ready to hit the ground running in order to make this state a better place to live, work, and raise a family for all.”
Senator Kraus spent six years serving the 48th District in the Missouri House of Representatives. He is a decorated Army pilot whose practical experience will stand him in good stead navigating the difficult terrain of Missouri’s economy.
“While today is a day for celebration with friends and family, tomorrow begins the real work,” Sen. Kraus said. “People need to know that we are here for them and to work on issues such as our economy, job creation, and a responsible state budget in order to make Missouri a stable home for generations to come.”
