Outrageous!… WaPo Lifts Shoe Tosser Muntadar al-Zaidi To Hero Status

Kurdish Media: Most Likely “Dodge Shoes” Will Become Favorite Game of Children Who Watch Aljazeera

That is one of my favorite sites they simply tell the truth. I have a strong opinion on this crime committed against the people of the United States of America, and I cannot fathom the thinking that goes into The New York Times, The Washington Post, Associated Press and all the rest who find it funny that the Office of The President of the United States of America has been so blatantly insulted.

I told a friend of mine, someone who proudly claimed once to me, “this momma is for Obama” that this international behavior was completely outrageous and that it should not be accepted. Fox News, icon of the right wing media according to some, headlined it as “PRES BUSH DUCKS WHEN IRAQUI MAN THROWS HIS SHOE AT HIM”. This is the right wing, conservative media outlet? Please! Let others attack the honor of the United States, but it is shameful when the internal media bashes a sitting president, one that they were bent on removing from the day he was elected and they are willing to show contempt for the office itself.

I’m old enough to remember the Carter years and the burning of flags on the streets of Iran. I remember the way the nation felt after the failed attempt to rescue the hostages. I remember the pain I felt as night after night Nightline and others in the media attacked the honor of the office of the President of the United States. A president I did not vote for. A president I did not particularly care for. A president that I watch preside over an economic meltdown for 4 long years. Yet, I could not accept then, nor do I accept today the denigration of the office that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, John F. Kennedy held and advanced.

It is easy to dishonor the occupant, but it is difficult to do so and not dishonor the office nor the country. The out and out sins of omission and placement committed by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The venerated Associated Press is unforgivable. It was back in the days of the Hostage situation back in the Carter years, it is unforgivable today, and it is an injustice to the next President of the United States of America; Barack Obama.

No, you should not stand for such an abuse of the office. It does not matter if it were Jimmy Carter, or George Bush. I affects the entire country and its morale when we do not stand up for what is right. Defend the office because while its occupants only stay there between four and eight years, the office has remained for 232 years. It has survived the wars and recessions as well as once Great Depression with its honor intact. Not something all of its occupants can say, but they are both tied together for their terms.

Write your Congressman! Write your Senator! Write your Governor! Write every politician and tell them; This Far, and No More! Our Country, flawed as it is, is still the beacon of freedom that no other can provide. Stand up and defend her!
