Jefferson City, February 28, 2012 – After months of building one of the most effective and recognized congressional campaigns in America, St. Louisan Ann Wagner officially filed to run for United State Congress in Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District.

“Today is the next step in our campaign to bring strong, effective, conservative leadership to Washington DC on behalf of Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District,” said Wagner. “Since last April our campaign has held dozens of Kitchen Table meetings across the district, built a strong and effective grassroots team, and has generated an unprecedented level of donor support.  We are in the process of building a winning campaign and today we make it official by filing for office.”

Ann is the daughter and granddaughter of small business entrepreneurs from the St. Louis area. She grew up, attended school, and worked in the community, serving in a variety of professional and volunteer roles.

“Washington DC is broken because we have a government that spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much of people’s hard earned money.  What they somehow fail to tax, they try to regulate,” said Wagner. “It’s time we cut up the government’s credit card and take a stand for freedom.”

Notable conservatives including former Attorney General John Ashcroft, Governor Mike Huckabee, Ambassador John Bolton, and Governor Chris Christie have all endorsed Ann Wagner’s campaign for Congress.   Huge and enthusiastic crowds have attended the campaign’s numerous events.

As a first-time candidate Wagner’s campaign has also generated record fundraising totals, garnering national attention.  Earlier this year, her campaign became one of just a few to reach “Contender” status from the National Republican Campaign Committee (NRCC).

Ann Wagner’s campaign will continue working to reach its objectives toward the goal of bringing consistent, committed, conservative leadership to Washington.  If you wish to keep informed about the campaign’s activities and accomplishments, visit www.AnnWagner.com, and follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
